Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP)
Lia Johnson is board-certified WHNP. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Auburn University at Montgomery and her RN and MSN from University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is the proud daughter of a father who served in the Air Force. She has lived in various parts of the country but is grateful to call Birmingham home. Lia always wanted to pursue a career in medicine. Her passion for women's health began in early 2012 when she was privileged to intern with Centering Pregnancy – a shared medical program for low risk pregnancies. Later that year, she was honored to accept a position caring for women veterans at the Birmingham VA and this position solidified her desire to become a women's health nurse practitioner. Lia is dedicated to help women of all ages achieve and maintain optimal health by promoting preventive health care, empowering patients through health education and providing quality individualized care.
Outside of work, Lia loves traveling with her husband, spending time with their two adult children and catching up with family and friends. She also enjoys cooking and fitness.
